  SMALL COLLEGE STARS: WR WAYNE RUBY, Mount Union (Ohio),...Ruby caught a nation-best 105 passes and was second with 1,473 yards. He had seven 100-yard games and elevated his play in the playoffs, catching 30 balls for 465 yards and five touchdowns in four games. The 6-1, 190-pound senior is poised to make another jump after making the AP Division III All-America second team. Asked how high Ruby's ceiling is, coach Geoff Dartt said, "I believe Wayne is ultimately in charge of that.   2019 AFCA DIVISION III COACHES' FIRST TEAM ALL-AMERICAN: WR Justin Hill, Sr., Mount Union (Ohio),...Hill earned his third AP All-America honor as he was named to the second team in 2017 and 2018. This season Hill finished with 80 receptions for 1,681 yards and 23 touchdowns. The 23 touchdowns tied the school single-season record set by Cecil Shorts in 2008 while the yards were fifth-best in school history. He ranks fourth in Mount Union history with 208 career catches for 4,153 yards (third all-time) and 61 TDs (second all-time). Hill was a three-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference first team selection and won the Ed Sherman Award as the conference's top receiver three straight years. Hill is the fifth player in Mount Union history to be named to an All-America team three times, joining Bill Borchert (1995-97), Chuck Moore (1999-01), Nate Kmic (2006-08) and Kevin Burke (2012-14). - Mount Union Football

  2019 OHIO ATHLETIC CONFERENCE MOST OUTSTANDING OFFENSIVE BACK: Mount Union senior quarter back D'Angelo Fulford (Miramar, Fla./Miramar) was chosen as the 2019 Bob Packard Most Outstanding Offensive Back for the third time. Fulford is the just the second player in conference history and first since Muskingum's Bill "Cannonball" Cooper from 1958-60 to win the offensive back of the year award three times. He is the nation's highest rated quarterback with a 229.5 rating as he has completed 73-percent of his passes for 2,569 yards with 39 touchdowns to just one interception. Named for former Baldwin Wallace head coach Bob Packard it is the 22nd time a Mount Union quarterback or running back has won the award. The Packard Award is presented by Baldwin-Wallace University in honor of Bob Packard, who served as head coach of the Yellow Jackets from 1981-2001.   2019 OHIO ATHLETIC CONFERENCE MOST OUTSTANDING RECEIVER: Mount Union senior Justin Hill (Circleville/Circleville) has been selected as the 2019 Ed Sherman Most Outstanding Receiver for the third time. Hill is the first three-time winner of the conference's top receiver award since it began in 1988. Hill has 73 catches for a nation's best 1,460 receiving yards and his 22 touchdowns is second-best nationally. He has had over 100 yards receiving in eight of 11 games so far this season. The award is named after former Muskingum head coach Ed Sherman and it is the 13th time a Mount Union player has won the award. The Sherman Award is presented by Muskingum University in honor of the winningest coach in school history.   2019 OHIO ATHLETIC CONFERENCE MOST OUTSTANDING OFFENSIVE LINEMAN: Mount Union senior Sean Sherman (Springboro/Middletown Fenwick) has been named the 2019 Ken Wable Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman. Sherman is a team captain that has started every game this season at left tackle and anchored an offensive line that is third in the nation in tackles for loss allowed for an offense that leads the nation in scoring at 55.5 points per game. The Wable Award is presented by Mount Union in honor of Ken Wable, who spent 24 years (1962-1985) leading the football program. During his time at Mount Union he led the Purple Raiders to 123 victories and an OAC Championship. - Ohio Athletic Conference Football

  2019 OHIO ATHLETIC CONFERENCE MOST OUTSTANDING DEFENSIVE BACK: Mount Union junior Kordell Ford (Massillon, Ohio/Massillon Washington) has been named the 2019 Lee J. Tressel Most Outstanding Defensive Back. During the regular-season, Ford averaged 4.0 tackles/game and had two sacks for a loss of 10 yards. He has been named First Team All-OAC. Baldwin-Wallace presents the Tressel Award in memory of coach Lee J. Tressel, who guided the Yellow Jackets to four OAC championships, one national title and a 154-52-6 record from 1958-80.   Mount Union, under the direction of seventh-year Head Coach Vince Kehres, was picked in both the preseason media and coaches' polls to win the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) football title in 2019. The preseason polls were released today at the OAC Football Media Preview, held at the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio. Mount Union received 26 of 27 first place votes (259 points) in the media poll and nine of 10 first place votes (81 points) in the coaches' poll.

Head coaches do not vote for their own teams in the balloting. The Purple Raiders return 14 starters and 45 letterwinners from 2018 and will look to contend for their 30th OAC title and a 14th NCAA Division III national championship. The Purple Raiders play five home and five away games starting Saturday, Sept. 7 at 7 p.m. with a game at Rose-Hulman (Ind.) while opening up OAC play two weeks later at home against Baldwin Wallace Saturday, Sept. 21 at 1:30 p.m. at Mount Union Stadium. - Ohio Athletic Conference Football
